New in the shop - Maja Barker

I have added to my online shop, so now, as well as being able to buy my foodie greetings cards, you can also buy a number of items by my favourite Bournemouth-based artist Maja Barker.

Maja graduated from the University of Sarajevo Academy of Fine Arts in 1992 – the same year she moved to the UK. As a single mum to two daughters and working two jobs, she only recently found the time to dust off her paintbrushes. She paints fruit and vegetables in acrylics. Maja says:

As we become more aware of the impact of meat consumption on our planet and veganism is ever more popular, I’m happy to be doing my bit to promote the beauty and simplicity of fruit and vegetables.

Her range of cushions feature paintings of sushi, lemons, chillies, oranges and figs and are handmade in the UK. The faux suede is vegan, and feels wonderfully smooth. They make a gorgeously unique gift for someone special. Shop the range here.

Or for just £12 you can get your hands on a vibrant tea towel featuring reproductions of Maja’s paintings. From bananas to beetroot, pears to pomegranates, it is sure to brighten your kitchen - and your day! It is 100% organic cotton and made in the UK. Shop here.
