Oink.

Welcome to my blog. I write about food and drink at home in Dorset and on my travels. Happy reading!

Is this Dorset's best farm shop?

Is this Dorset's best farm shop?

Last year, en route to Lyme Regis, we stopped at Felicity’s Farm Shop in Morcombelake, and now we can’t travel the A35 without popping in. It’s a family-run business selling plants, gifts and groceries, plus there is a takeaway kitchen serving delicious food and refreshments. The outdoor seating area out the back has expansive views over the hills to the sea.

The groceries on offer are amazing. Felicity and co have sourced the finest produce from the Jurassic Coast, and beyond. Their selection of free range meats includes Bellair Haye rare breed pork from their own farm. The booze displays are very impressive, with shelves and shelves of local cider, wine, beer and spirits. I have never before seen a ‘scoop your own’ chest freezer, selling frozen fruit, veg, patisserie items and even Yorkshire puddings. What a brilliant idea.

In the car park there is a kiosk selling Baboo Gelato - the award-winning artisanal ice-cream made in Bridport. And from Thursday - Saturday you’ll find the HIX Oyster & Fish Truck selling super fresh fish straight out of Lyme Bay, as well as hot fishy snacks.

Felicity’s - we salute you!
